If you wait and buy it onboard, the price jumps to $74.95 per person, per day — and after the mandatory 20% service charge is added, the all-in onboard cost reaches $83.94 per person, per day.
The pre-cruise price already includes the service charge, making it the smarter buy. Carnival also enforces a hard cut-off: you must purchase before 11:59 PM the night before embarkation. After that, you're paying the higher onboard rate.

The 15-Drink Daily Limit — What You Need to Know
Carnival caps CHEERS! at 15 alcoholic drinks per person, per 24-hour period (measured from 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM the following day). Once you hit 15, you cannot purchase any additional alcoholic beverages for the rest of that period — the package does not roll over.
There's also a 10-minute waiting period between drinks — Carnival updated this rule in 2024, up from the previous 5-minute gap. This is enforced at the bar. Non-alcoholic beverages are not subject to either limit.
